Linklaters appoints Scott Bowie as global head of investment management
Linklaters announces that US partner Scott Bowie will become Global Practice Head of the firm’s Investment Management Group, effective as of 1 May 2010.
Scott, who is currently head of the New York investment management practice, succeeds Tim Shipton, who created the Investment Management Group as a stand-alone practice in 2000. In addition to supporting Scott, Tim will continue his leadership role as co-head of the firm’s Investment Managers Sector, where he will focus on the development of the firm's overall relationships with its investment manager clients.
Scott Bowie said:"What brought me to Linklaters in 2005 was the opportunity to be part of and to develop a globally integrated investment management practice. I look forward to working with Tim and our entire global investment management team to build on the success that Tim has helped us to achieve."
Tim Shipton said:"I am absolutely delighted that Scott is taking over as Global Practice Head. We are in good hands and I look forward to supporting Scott in his new role. I have enjoyed immensely building the global practice over the last ten years and fostering the integration of our national practices in executing fund mandates. It has been a very successful period for the group and I have no doubt that this success will continue under the stewardship of Scott. I will now devote my energies to the client side of our business for the benefit of the Investment Management Group and the firm as a whole."
