Laven Partners, the global consultancy and compliance group to the fund management industry, and ComplianceAsia, the leading compliance provider in the Asia-Pacific region, have entered into a co-operation arrangement to provide a comprehensive compliance and consulting service. Together the firms will offer services to local and global financial industry groups. The combination of the firms’ expertise and geographical coverage will place them ahead of other advisors.

The arrangement will allow Laven Partners’ existing Singapore clients to benefit from the in depth knowledge and expertise of ComplianceAsia in regulatory and compliance matters across Asian markets from ComplianceAsia’s Singapore office (which also covers South East Asia and India) and its Hong Kong office which also covers the PRC, Taiwan, Japan and Korea.

Laven Partners’ London office will offer compliance advice for both the AIFMD and UCITS European frameworks as well as provide UK FCA centred support.  Laven  Partners’ New York office will help with US registration and other local reporting requirements for the SEC and NFA.

The agreement is the result of increased demand by asset managers for local knowledge with a global reach, as regulations evolve across the leading financial centers in which Laven Partners and ComplianceAsia are based.

Jerome de Lavenere Lussan, CEO of Laven Partners said: “We are thrilled to be represented in Asia by such a solid and established partner. ComplianceAsia is the leading compliance advisor in the Asia-Pacific and we look forward to providing our global and local clients with access to Philippa Allen and her team. We have had great success already in the region with some of our European products, such as the AIFMD distribution desk, and we are certain this will be of interest to any Asian manager looking to raise assets  that are currently linked to ComplianceAsia.”

Philippa Allen, CEO of ComplianceAsia, said: “Our strategic alliance with Laven Partners  will draw on their deep knowledge of asset management operations and global compliance processes. We will provide our Asian clients with that compliance expertise in the EU and US, while continuing to offer our Asian expertise and knowledge.”

By combining both local and international capabilities, Laven Partners and ComplianceAsia seek to provide comprehensive and commercial solutions that are both cost-effective and tailor-made for the needs of their clients.
