Hedge Funds Care UK has appointed Gunner Burkhart as chairman.

He will replace existing chairman Robert Mirksy, global head of KPMG’s hedge fund practice, who has relocated to New York. Mirsky will remain active with the charity as Chairman Emeritus and will become a senior adviser to the board.Burkhart is a senior adviser to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). He has worked in investment banking and asset management for more than 30 years.The appointment comes ahead of the charity’s annual gala dinner on Thursday, December 4, being held at the National History Museum, which will raise money for a number of charities combating child abuse.
