Hedge Funds Care to host London benefit gala dinner
Help for Children UK (HFC UK), formerly known as Hedge Funds Care, will host its flagship event – the annual London Benefit gala dinner – at The Dorchester on December 5.
Highlights for the upcoming gala dinner include entertainment provided by electric string quartet Asteria and comedian Nina Conti. This year’s auction will be conducted by celebrity auctioneer Jonty Hearnden, better known for appearing on Antiques Roadshow, Cash in Your Attic and Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is. The dinner will also be replete with a casino and vodka lounge.
The charity's 2012 dinner, which took place in the Science Museum raised almost £300,000 and comes several months after it hosted its third annual golf day at The Grove in Hertfordshire raising more than £33,000. The Deloitte team emerged as winners of the 18-hole tournament followed by the CME Group.
HFC UK has raised more than £1 million for various children’s charities since it was established by Robert Mirsky, global head of hedge funds at KPMG in 2006.
Other HFC UK functions over last year have included its summer Networking Event at the Osborne Studio Gallery in Belgravia, netting £7,000 for good causes. Beneficiaries include Beatbullying, an anti-bullying charity; Centrepoint Soho Limited, which works with homeless children, and Imara CIC, which helps children that have been subjected to abuse.
