Cordium, the regulatory compliance consultancy, has acquired Sigma Partnership, a London-based compliance and accounting firm.
This comes as Sigma’s three managing partners – Brenda Hanna, Carol Brown and Joe Seet – are all set to retire, although they will take non-executive roles at Cordium to ensure a smooth transition.
The acquisition will help bolster Cordium’s existing accountancy offering in addition to its compliance services.
The accounting team will be headed by Matthew Crisp, who incidentally joined Cordium from Sigma earlier in the year. He will report to Stephen Burke, managing director for EMEA at Cordium.
This is the latest acquisition by Cordium, previously known as The IMS Group.
The firm, which is owned by private equity shop Sovereign Capital, has bought out several businesses since 2010 including HedgeOp Compliance, Evenwheel Solutions and MMS Regulatory Solutions. Cordium has confirmed it is seeking out further acquisitions in 2014.
