COOConnect will be holding an OTC derivatives clearing webcast on Thursday, March 29 from 11am till 12:30pm GMT (12pm CET/6am ET) in London.

The shift towards mandatory clearing has been fraught with difficulty and confusion with ongoing regulatory uncertainty and delays causing consternation among buy-side market participants. COOConnect’s discussion will debate a variety of issues all relevant to the buy-side including a look at which products are eligible for clearing, margin methodologies, collateral costs, CCP counterparty risk, interoperability and the current albeit somewhat opaque regulatory timetable in both the US and European Union.

Hosted by COOConnect founder Dominic Hobson, the high-calibre panellists include James Coltman, COO at Arrowgrass Capital Partners, Michael Hieb, chief risk officer at Cairn Capital, Gareth Roblin, head of fixed income operations at Avoca Capital, Jaki Walsh, group derivatives operational officer at F&C Asset Management, Anthony Belchambers, CEO at the Futures and Options Association, Alistair Milne, professor of finance at Loughborough University School of Business and Economics, Mark Woodward, head of ICE Clear Europe’s corporate development team, Lee Betsill, COO at CME Europe, Alison King, senior vice president at Eurex Clearing, as well as representatives from Deutsche Bank and Credit Suisse.

The event, which will be filmed as a live webinar, is available only to accredited buy side institutions. The webcast will be available at a later date for those unable to participate in the live cast. To register for the webcast please visit
