As Global Head of OTC Derivatives Clearing, Alexander Jacobs is responsible for all OTC related business within ABN AMRO Clearing. As of 2009 Alexander heads the OTC Derivatives Clearing Services, which services and facilitates Non Clearing Members in all their OTC trading activities. Alexander has over 15 years of professional experience in all aspects of Derivatives Trading and Clearing.  Alexander started his career in 1997 as a Market Maker in Equity Derivatives on the Amsterdam Options Exchange. After 6 years of trading, Alexander left the exchange to become an Investment Banking consultant. Prior to joining ABN AMRO Clearing in 2007, as Senior Risk Manager, Alexander fulfilled the role of Business Architect Prime Brokerage within Fortis Bank Nederland. As the Architect, Alexander was responsible for setting up the framework for a new Prime Broker firm in London. Alexander holds a Master degree in Economics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.

 

John Southgate is Senior Vice President, Head of Derivatives & Collateral Product Management, EMEA at Northern Trust. John is responsible for developing derivatives and collateral products across Corporate & Institutional Services, primarily within the EMEA region. This involves developing new products and services for both asset owners, from a custody perspective, and asset managers, from an Investment Operations Outsourcing angle. John’s primary focus since joining Northern Trust in 2011 has been around the firm’s response to global derivatives reforms, including the implementation of OTC central counterparty clearing and trade repository reporting services as a result of the European Markets Infrastructure Regulation and Dodd Frank Act Title VII regulatory initiatives. John has 15 years of banking experience, primarily within global investment banks, including Citigroup, Lehman Brothers and Nomura. Prior to joining Northern Trust, John spent the majority of his time working within Prime Brokerage in varying front-office roles, including Product Development, Hedge Fund Consulting and Capital Introductions. Product Development roles have included Cash Prime Brokerage and OTC derivatives outsourcing.

 

Phillip Atkinson is Executive Director, Global Head of Membership Sales & Relationship Management OTC & Exchange Products (Rates, FX, FI). Phillip  is  responsible  for  global  Membership  Sales  and  Relationship  Management  for  the SwapClear,  RepoClear  &  ForexClear  services  of  LCH.Clearnet.  SwapClear,  RepoClear  and  ForexClear deliver  OTC swap  & exchange,  Fixed Income & Repo  and NDF  & FX  clearing services to buy and sell side customers, across global financial markets and is the market leader in OTC clearing. Phillip is also responsible for Partnership  and Alliances with all third party vendors and service providers and manages the International agenda (the  expansion of SwapClear and ForexClear’s global footprint) for both services. For LCH.Clearnet he has worked on initiatives in the USA, Canada, Australia, South  Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan. Phillip is highly experienced with 30 years in financial markets  covering FX, Rates, Treasury and Capital Markets and possesses a wide range of knowledge of Investment and Commercial Banking.

 

Paul Clement has over 15 years of experience across all areas of Operations, Compliance, Legal, Cash Management, Execution Trading, IT and has a strong in depth knowledge across most asset classes. Currently Paul serves as Partner & Director of Operations for Castilium Capital LLP which is a Long/Short Equity A.I. Quant fund which launched last year where his responsibilities include all areas of Operations, Compliance, IR and Legal. Since Joining Castilium Paul has owned the successful implementation of AIFMD, EMIR , FATCA and owned the implementation of Novus risk system. Prior to Castilium Paul successfully headed up the Operations & Compliance functions in London for Visium Asset Management and was also the Compliance Officer and acted as an authorized execution trader. Prior to Visium Paul has held similar Senior Operational/ Trade Support positions for COMAC Capital, Fortress LLP (Drawbridge Fund), Old Lane LLP and Bank of America.

 

Matthew Dening is the managing partner of Sidley’s London office, a co-head of its Global Finance team and a member of the firm’s Derivatives group. He focuses his practice primarily on cross-border structured finance transactions involving derivatives, repos and securities lending, as well as on the regulation of derivatives under the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR).
